Robin C wedding party

Wedding Theme:

"We had a rockabilly wedding, complete with a classic car, tattoo flash, pinup and greaser stations, a rocking band with an upright bass, and loads of smiling faces."

Dress: Robin wore our Luxor.  Robin customized with a net/organdy stand alone petticoat (check out our accessories section) in peacock. She also added a 3/4 length bolero.  Robin also had straps made and a custom sash to match her petticoat.

Favorite moment from the wedding:

"A little back story to my favorite moment of my wedding...The day before I met Ken I told my cousin that all I wanted was to meet a nice greaser, who rides a motorcycle and would sing me Elvis songs. Ken is a greaser and rides a motorcycle, and until our wedding day had never sang me an Elvis song. And then he got up, in front of all of our family and friends to sing "Teddy Bear" with the band. It was a wonderful surprise to me, and my definitely my favorite moment."

What made you choose DC?

"When I went to find a wedding dress, I knew I wanted a short dress which is not common, and I knew I wanted a personal experience. The second I stepped into the NYC store, I knew I was not walking out without being an owner of a DC bridal dress."

Advice for future DC brides:

"My advice for future DC brides is to step back and look around and just enjoy the moment. Yvette was amazing to boot. She knew exactly what would look best on me. The dress I bought wasn't even one I had in mind. Once I tried it on, I was in love."

Robin has told me she plans on dying her dress so she can wear it again. Congrats Robin & Ken!

Fabulous Friday - Megan & Brendan

Friday, July 12, 2013 3:13:25 PM America/Los_Angeles

It's once again Fabulous Friday here at Dolly Couture, and we have an all new bride to showcase!

It's time for Megan & Brendan!!! How can you not love a man in uniform?! How happy and cute does Megan look?!

Couple: Megan & Brendan

Wedding Date: October 13, 2010

Wedding Theme:

"Our theme, if anything, was military-- after dating for almost 6 years (high school sweethearts, Cutest Couple per Chillicothe's standards :)), we got engaged July 5 2010, planned a wedding for October 10th in Georgia when he would have 2 days "free" after he graduated basic training and headed to Officer Candidate School.  He was in training for almost a whole year, so we had this little window to marry!"

Dress: Megan wore our Moon River.  She was able to purchase it from out Off the Rack Section (check it out if you need a dress fast). This particular Moon River has some of the tulle removed so she didn't have as much poof.

Favorite moment from the wedding:

"My favorite moment was surprising him with bringing his mom and having a wedding dress!  I was also planning our wedding by letter since he had no access to phone or computer.  I even snuck and mailed him a ring sizer to be able to order his wedding band!"

What made you choose DC?

"I chose Dolly Couture because I wanted a retro dress, and the Moon River was beautiful.  It was also the perfect price for a young couple just starting out.  I also had outstanding customer service -- my customer service rep at Dolly Couture went above and beyond by finding me the dress in my size off the rack and having it specially shipped in such a short notice, so I could take it on the plane from Ohio to Georgia and get married in it!"

Advice for future DC brides:

"I would advise to pay more attention to the relationship than the wedding.  As exciting and breathless as our wedding was, I know it was our relationship that got us through the many months of separation.  Also, be flexible on wedding day!  Anything can happen, so just roll with the punches!  Sometimes the happy accidents are the best memories!"
